Caleffi's Hydro Separator is one of the most effective means of creating primary/secondary piping for hydronic heating and air conditioning systems. By creating a low-pressure drop zone, the Hydro Separator enables connected primary and secondary loops to be hydraulically independent of each other, creating a primary loop with a constant flow and a secondary loop with variable flows when fitted to one boiler or chiller header. The flow in one circuit does not create or interrupt flow in another.The Hydro Separator has a welded steel body with epoxy-baked, power-coated enamel paint for optimum corrosion resistance; a form-fitting insulated jacket for 1-inch to 4-inch sizes; and an automatic high-capacity air vent with service valve to discharge accumulated air within the circuits. The bottom section has a low flow zone for dirt settling and a drain valve for dirt blow down.
Caleffi Hydro Separators come in 1-inch to 2-inch sizes with end connections union-threaded, 1 to 1-1/4-inch union-sweat and 2-inch to 12-inch ANSI flanged. ASME-registered flanged models are available in 5-inch to 12-inch sizes. Flow rates range from 1 GPM to 1,840 GPM.
