Automatic ice and snow melting systems detect when driveways and sidewalks require heat, automatically switching on and off as needed. Caleffi's 605 Series programmable, all solid-state ice and snow detector uses inputs from remote sensors to activate a single-zone melting system only when needed. This assures a maintenance-free, safe and economic operation even under the most severe conditions, confirmed by thousands of installations in North America.Using an exclusive patented technology, the pavement sensor contains two types of sensors embedded in a protective polymer, measuring moisture and temperature for early detection of ice and snow. This detector can be configured with an optional second sensor offering independent sensitivity adjustments enhancing system melt performance. This provides "peace of mind" redundant reliability in safety critical applications. An optional idle mode function allows a slab to remain at an elevated temperature to provide quicker melt response.
The Caleffi ice and snow detector combines ideally with the 592 Series high flow distribution manifold, suited especially for hydronic melt zones large enough to require multiple circuits operating as a single zone.
