Utilizing reed switching technology, Caleffi has released an innovative sealed auxiliary switch design for its Z-one™ zone valves (patent pending). The new auxiliary switch features electrical contacts that are hermetically sealed thus allowing valves to operate reliably in harsher environments (refer to page 10 of the 5th Edition of idronics™: Zoning Hydronic Systems ). This innovative switch design requires no minimum current load. As a result, an unlimited number of 24V actuator auxiliary switches may be wired in parallel to a typical zoning relay box without concern for insufficient contact wiping current.
